C'est Belle

When reading gets too deep

artypic.jpg

Lately, you might noticed I haven’t posted much writing, sharing relatively more on my culinary pursuits. Well, I’ve stopped reading and writing for a while, because I think all those dark plots are messing up my mind a little. I have a question for everything I read and watch, which subsequently leads to more questions and then I end up with a hyper-active brain. Not good because I get all emotional over issues that aren’t even real!

Geez, welcome to the world of fiction.

Haha i luv fiction… Questions r gd, but too much questions will juz toment ur brain cells… Lolx!

Anyway, im currently reading “The Time Traveler’s Wife’… Juz started with a few chapters and i muz say it’s a little confusing due to the time frame in which one of the characters travelled. But i’m beginning to get used to the story plot and stuff… A recommended novel by many! So do read it when u’ve the time… =)

Hi hi delphine,

hey joanne :D
hmm…i think its perfectly alright cos it stimulates your brain cells and make them THINK,THINK and THINK.quite cool and nice.
i do have a thing for writing too.heh heh.
and sometimes…i even find myself too caught up with all the confusion and commotion in my writing,i totally forget to think rationally. :)
i do tend to get very personal and biased la.
but its ok to lose myself in thought sometime.
can be quite fun.im sure you very much enjoy writing besides all those ’side effects’.
continue coming up with more stories cos i really enjoy reading them and m sure others will too :)
however, dont forget the domestic goddess thing :)
jiayou.will always be there for u :D

if you havent read “maybe a miracle” by brian strausse, please do.. its a brilliant book. I picked it up at the oxfam charity shop and its along the same lines of jodi picoult and her peers, cept slightly more upbeat. definitely recommended for 2008.

hope you’re doing well, adeline

Hi joanne (:

have u read books by torey hayden? she’s a really good writer, and i tell you, you’ll fall in love with her books at once! that was what happened to me.. yeah. sometimes reading all those dark plots lets your mind wander, but torey’s books dosent. although the kids can be quite disturbed at times, well, they are not as bad as all those ”dark” books. they are also all reasonably priced at $17-$20 for each book. (except for silent boy which is priced at $30+)you’ll be able to find them at kinokuniya, MPH, times bookstore, borders. im not sure if you can find it at other bookstores.. but you’ll certaintly find it at these stores. (don’t bother to find it at popular ’cause you’ll certaintly can’t find it there!) :) happy reading okay? you’ll be sure to enjoy those books!!!

xoxo,
Kimberlyy

listen to more music,
ditch the books.
shouldn’t you be adding misty to your playlist?
hoho.

Despite not being a fan of our local media figures, curiosity started me and i began hopping.

And though 6 months late, i concur with lester.
Lyrics:
1) Provide food for thought and
2) goes easier on the brain than the heavyweight reads. Hence,
3) preserving your ‘thinking’ abilities.

Music:
Gives your head something to bang to.

But carry on with the books, man.
Cheers.
